An unserem ersten Samstag schauten wir uns Paris mit einer FREE-TOUR an. Es war sehr gut. Gibt es fast in jedem Land und ist sehr zu empfehlen. Man gibt ein Trinkgeld am Ende der Tour. Hier einige Bilder:
The Pont Neuf, New Bridge is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. Its name, which was given to distinguish it from older bridges that were lined on both sides with houses, has remained.
At the point where the bridge crosses the Île de la Cité, there stands a bronze equestrian statue of King Henry IV of France, originally commissioned from Giambologna under the orders of Marie de Médicis, Henri’s widow and Regent of France, in 1614.
Love padlocks on the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor. Love padlocks are a custom by which sweethearts affix padlocks to a fence or similar public fixture to symbolise their love.
For a century, it was the cast iron bridge inaugurated by Napoleon III in 1861 which allowed vehicles to cross between quai Anatole-France and quai des Tuileries. Built by the engineers of the Pont des Invalides, Paul-Martin Gallocher de Lagalisserie and Jules Savarin, it was named after the June 1859 French victory of the Battle of Solferino. Having weakened over time (particularly due to barges crashing into it), it was demolished and replaced in 1961 with a steel footbridge, demolished in its turn in 1992.
