Because Hebrews 4:12 says: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
I took the sword of God to proclaim HIS TRUTH over my life, because it is written in Isaiah 53:4-6: Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Ephesians 6, 10-18 tells us: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
I put the helmet of salvation on every day and I proclaimed that I am fully healed by his wounds. Because I had practice for the last week, when I had to lead Devotions during class, I used the 'Armor of God' Biblescripture for speaking. I painted all the things on the black board, so the other students could understand the words easier.
Even though my severe headache is gone, this week has still been hard for us; we have been writing tests every day, we can feel that you are praying for us. This Wednesday, we had lots of homework to do and it took us around 6 hours (I haven’t even finished it yet). It seems like an ongoing story, because if we miss a lot, we can’t keep up. Also this weekend we have loads to do…. I am so looking forward to have a vacation, in 4 weeks time.
We have changed our strategy a bit: instead of studying until 10.30 (which did not work for me) we try to finish studying by 9 o’clock, and get up early to start. Because I realized, that reading my Bible gets always the last priority in my 24 hour day. Through our `time change`, God gets the first attention.
Thank you for all the lovely emails and little reminders to tell us, that you are thinking of us and that you love us. Our friendships are important to us.
Please keep us updated what’s going on in your life! Talk to you next Saturday.
