I am on the road to nowhere ...

Do you know the song: “I am on the road to nowhere”…, this is actually all I remember from that song.
This sentence came to my mind when we are driving along the tight roads in Corsica. The roads are very winding, and sometimes you are going around the corner and around and you are wondering if it will get ever straight.

But with God this is not true, because even though we can’t sometimes see where we are going, we know what our final destination is: Heaven, to be with our loving Father and Jesus forever.

When we went for walks, sometimes I looked up and I though: 'Oh, no, is this where I still have to go?'
Like in the one picture you cant even see the way. So I thought it might be better not to look up and just pay attention on the things in front of me and enjoy the things I see: little lizards and beautiful flowers. But what happened when I just looked one meter in front of me, keeping my eyes on the ground, I lost the focus, I forget where I was going.
I felt like God is saying to me: You need a balance, keep your eyes fixed on me, I will lead you every step of the way. It is not a way to nowhere. When you put your eyes on me, you are safe and you can also enjoy what’s just in front of you.

I have just listened to a Christian song from Dennis Jernigan in which he sings: Let us run the race. Let us gain the prize. Let us run with grace to where we fix our eyes! Let us all endure Storm and fiery wind. Let your gaze be sure. Run your race to Him!

This is my prayer for all of us: Lord help us, to keep our eyes fixed on you. You are the author and finisher of our faith!

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-3 (in Context)
