The bread man

Every morning Andy and I are reading 'the word for today'. Right now it is all about "Praying Jesus' Way", it goes through the different parts of the Lord's prayer. The verse for today was: 'Give us each day our daily bread.' It says:
Your Father is willing to meet your physical and financial needs. The word Jesus used here meant literal 'food'. God is more concerned about the necessities of your everyday life than you are. He multiplied food for five thousand hungry people. He healed all who were sick. And He wants to meet your needs, too. Do not worry, saying: "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?" (Matthew 6:31, NKJV). The moment you enter God's presence, you become aware of your sin, but also of his holiness and goodness.

During our travel up North, we were staying over night in a tiny village -  if it can even be called that. It had two houses, one wooden hut which is the kitchen, and the outside toilet. To check it out, please watch the video if you like.

After a 6 hour drive we arrived there quite early. There was nothing to do. I regret, that I didn't bring my knitting. So we played Domino, the Haitians favorite game. We ate around 5pm, and that was it. Andy and I were again hungry at 8pm, but there was nothing. We heard later, that people here go sometimes 3 days without eating. We learned soon, that the Pastor who traveled with us had brought his own 5 gallon water canister, oh we were lucky: he brought one for us as well.
People go to bed when the sun goes down and get up when the roosters crow. So did we. Out of nowhere arrived suddenly a man with a big bowl on his head, it was the bread man :-). We were so glad to see him, we didn't expect that at all. After we paid for a piece of bread, he walked happy of to the next village. Our host tells us: All the bread will be sold soon.

So when Andy read the bible verse: 'Give us each day our daily bread.' the picture of the bread man came to mind. I said to him: Surely, if in this village, in the middle of nowhere, it is possible for a man showing up selling bread, how much more does our heavenly Father knows what we need and He can provide in any circumstances!
