Teaching English as a Second Language

I have been teaching English in a centre run by World Venture, I started with 7 and by the end of the second week, if all turn up at the same time they number 12. Four from the local bank who have just moved into the city, the bank is paying for their tuition. Two doctors learning English to help them with medical terms and medicine. The rest are students from the university who are on their summer holidays and want to advance in their understanding of English.
It is fun seeing them bond as a group, many try and help those who struggle. One of the hardest words for them to master is "the" it is just so hard for them to pronounce. We are in the rainy season and I asked them if it was raining would they come to class, they were all in agreement that they would. The following week it rained before the class, I went along and was surprised to see three waiting patiently for me to arrive, six others gradually made there way in. I thought it was going to be just me! Please pray that during the teaching materials, I will be able to find opportunities of why I am here in their country, in a sensitive and positive way.
