Back in the UK

While away on our Home Assignment the rainy season has started in earnest in Guinea, we have phoned a couple of times to ask if all is well and have always been reassured that it was. One day we had pictures sent via Whatsapp showing the water from a storm outside our gate seen in the picture. Now we live on a hill and the gate is at the top, so we are a little concerned at how the rest of the courtyard will look, at time of writing only 10 days to go till we arrive back in our town of service. Pray that we don't find a huge mess to clear-up.
We have been overwhelmed by the support while travelling around the South of England. It is hard not to mention you all by name, but you know who you are. Accommodation, meals, prayer and words of encouragement. We started off down on Exmoor with a church organising a mission day so it's members could get a feel for mission. We then had sometime to walk on the seafront in Torbay, something of a treat as walking in Guinea is somewhat harder to do as a couple in a male dominated society. Then we visited a multiculturally diverse church with over 25 nations represented, isn't it good when God works through us all together. We have been left speechless by the interest of all the churches we have visited, even those smaller congregations in how our work is going along and how can they pray more specifically. We have driven hundreds of miles and been welcomed with smiling faces at places we have stayed the night, you have all been a wonderful encouragement to us as we hope we were for you too.

While being back we were treated to a retreat in Geneva. This was provided through the Christian hospitality network, organised from the United States. They pampered us with everything that we could think of a doctor, chiropractor, hand massages, full upper body massages, mentoring, optician and a haircut. For three days we didn't need to lift a finger as we were loved on by the volunteers. It was such a privilege to be in the presence of 160 like minded people serving all over the world.

Prayer Points:
1. Pray that the flight back will be without incident, including strikes with airport staff.
2. Pray as we prepare to return to our roles and responsibilities of service.
3. We are considering looking for a new house, pray that we will have discernment in the process.
