Demonstrations - again

Guinea has been paralysed by demonstrations this week.
Smoke rises above our neighbours house as the demonstrations take place on the road behind.
The bridge behind our house.
We have seen demonstrations before, but never this close to our house. Now the road has been partially repaired, it has become a short-cut to town. Therefore a new place to erect a barrier and charge people to walk through, motorised vehicles have to turn around and find another way.
Security personnel were out in force.
We took the photo from a long way back.
This road took the barriers to the extreme.
Demonstrations have taken place throughout the week, we have left the car at home and tried to continue, but many people are afraid to leave the safety of their compound.
We manage to visit many women from the Self-Help-Group as Caroline is completing a questionnaire for her masters programme.
All Victors programmes were put on hold as students were told to stay at home.

During the week there are reports that 10 people have died due to the rioting and violence. Reports from 1 town say a 10 year-old boy was killed when he was shot in the chest by a police officer. In the same town a police officer was killed by friendly fire.
Prayer Points:
1. Pray that Guinea remains calm and negotiations move forward quickly.
2. Pray for relationship building with the ladies from the SHG.
3. Pray that Victor will be able to resume his teaching soon.
4. Pray for those mourning the loss of loved ones this week.
