Ploughing their field

Well, it looks like the flow of people coming to our region to look for gold has dropped. The government tried to close the mine after a few days, but this upset many prospectors who had paid for the mining rights and were then denied access to the mining area. The government relented and allowed those who had paid for rights to mine. We were shown a picture of one person who had found a big chunk about the size of you fist, hope it wasn't fools gold.
The computer room at the English language centre is really creating a headache for Victor. One day it all works fine and the next the screens will not connect. Please pray that this will be able to be rectified. Victor has been looking online for teaching material, it needs to be Scorm 1.2 compliant. Does anyone know of teaching English as a second language material which fit this need?
Caroline has been teaching “Days for Girls” in the local schools, it is amazing how many girls are not told anything about the menstrual cycle from their mothers or aunts, some really think that they are sick when they have their first period. Caroline heard that to stop girls from becoming pregnant that their mothers sow them up and then just before their wedding burn away the thread. Extreme lengths to stop girls from bringing shame on the family.
It was great to be visiting our Self-Help-Group when they were ploughing their field. They were so excited to get to this point. Pray that the crops will bring forth new hope.

We agonised over being vaccinated here in country, worrying over the cold chain, but when we heard that AstraZeneca was being offered here, the only one here that is recognised in Europe, we thought we would go and see what the queues would be like. Well we arrived at 9.30 in the morning, walked into the office and stood in line. There was one person in front of us, they asked if we had a choice, we gave them our choice, she filled out the form gave us our certificate and we went next door to see the nurse. Unfortunately being a donated vaccine to one of the poorer nations it is highly likely that it is the Indian made AstraZeneca vaccine, therefore, may not be recognised in Europe after all.
Please pray as we try and organise our trip back to Europe. This is complex due to the Covid pandemic and continually changing restrictions. We are not sure if we will still have to quarantine as Guinea is an amber listed country. We are looking to visit Germany first and then fly to the UK. At the moment Germany is an amber list, but who knows when we start to fly what lists countries are on! We are looking to fly into the UK right at the end of September, does anyone know of a holiday home / free apartment where we can quarantine if necessary?
Thank you for following us, we love you all.
