This POST is devided into two sections: Andy is writing a bit, and I do as well.
Andy writes:
We are doing well; we have just started our second French language course. The first was a 12 week course in Paris to get us to the grade to start the school we are living at now. 1 hour commute, class sizes that changed every week and many different teachers, it was harder for the more mature students to cope with, the constant change i.e. us.
The school we are at now; we live onsite, Christian college, more mature students, next student change is at Christmas, like minded people.
The classes are very difficult as the teacher talks French all the time, apparently it is the best way to learn, it's very frustrating when you don't catch everything that is being said, but we are making progress it's very slow and hard to see the progress on some days but we are moving forward.
One good thing at the new school, is we get 30 minutes a day as midday devotions, short service and a song or two just to focus on God and his plan for our lives.
Jutta's thoughts:
It seems like that even though we live so close to each other, we don't really connect with people here. The reason: everybody sits in their little room, doing their HOMEWORK. We have so much homework that we have to watch out that we don't get drowned in it.
Because of that, we dedided that every Tuesday we want to invite 1 or 2 neighbours for dinner. Just to get to know the people better around us. Together we can pray and lift each other up, this will give us the feeling we aren't struggeling only by ourselves. This Tuesday we invited our friends from South Korea.
Two of them are friends we've had meet in the language school in Paris, and the one in the middle who is showing us how to use the instrument is actually our neighbour in 'Les Cedres'.
God has blessed us very much since we are with BMS, and we want to share the blessing. Like with Abraham, when God said to him:
Genesis 12:2 (New International Version)"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."
Below you can see us having a short worship time together.
Also we decided to go away as a couple one weekend per month. Our first weekend away we have planned a trip to Mont Saint Michel, Normandy. This will actually be this weekend.
Prayerpoints: Please pray still for our language study. Pray that God will give us an open ear for the language and a tongue to speak it. For next week we have to memories the Lords prayer in french, and also I have to lead Devotions on the 5th of October.
It is still difficult and frustrating, because we had classes now for the last 3 months, and we only can see a bit of fruit. The teachers say: Don't worry, the speech will come. Hm, the question is: WHEN?
I know from learning english, yes it takes time and yes sometimes I am impatient.
Could you pray for us as a couple as we study in separate rooms and we are in different classes and just trying to get quality time together is pretty hard.
Thanks for your prayers we appreciate them very much. And also thank you for staying in touch.
Peace be with you
