Rain, Rain, go away

Since 5 days nothing but rain. Rain when we get up, rain when we lay down, rain during the night and rain during the day. All what I can think of is the song: Rain, rain go away..., but I guess this is why it is called rainy season.

Last night I actually felt cold, so today we had to look for our summer duvet which we brought but haven’t used it so far. Also this morning we felt like drinking hot tea, normally we think twice about it, because after we drink one we get hot flushes, smile. But now, we welcome them now.

The Africans are wearing at this time big winter jacket and hats. So whenever I see a little kid wearing a woolen hat or a older one wearing a knitted sweater or jacket I am thinking of all the faithful ones in England (Andy’s Mum, Auntie Pauline, Gwen and many others) who knit all year long to send it to Africa or around the world. Keep knitting friends, people really wear them.
Our cloths get usually washed on Monday, but with the rain and humidity it takes forever to dry. After 1 day and 1 night hanging on the line it is still a bit damp and it doesn’t smell nice either.

Also yesterday I figured something else out:
But before I explain, let me ask you a question: Have you been on a campsite where there is no water, or just so cold that you don’t really want to take a shower? Or have you ever been on long hikes where it is hard to find water?

This is how we feel. Actually both of them. First of all the water is so cold, often when we just think about a shower we don’t really want to have one. But this means, that we come to the second question, because if we don’t wash - we smell a bit.
So yesterday I figured out that we start to smell different, and I am not sure that is because of lot of rain, of the damp, or actually the food we eat.
Whenever you have a nice hot shower, or a long bath, just think of us and maybe you can pray for us at the same time.
