Last Tuesday we went to a Day of Prayer which Campus for Christ had organized. After being in traffic for two hours, we made it safely. We stayed 4 hours, which actually went by very quick which surprised me very much. The message was given by a Congolese brother, and for the first time since we arrived in Guinea I felt actually spiritual refreshed. God used the message to talk to my heart. This was good. The message was kept very simple, this was probably the reason why we both understood it all. With this feeling: ‘Oh, I understood it all, I’ve got it all’, this is the time when God starts to actually use it.
The church we go usually on Sundays is good as well, but it is very hard to understand, this is because of the microphone they use (it always has an echo) and also the accent of the pastor. Last time it rained so much, that we couldn’t understand one word, because the rain fell on the tin roof. By the way, I have not seen so much water before in a church.
On top of it, in the afternoon, we have been twice to an English speaking service, which is ‘only’ 1 hour. We decided to go there now every Sunday, just to meet other missionaries and also for our spiritual enrichment. The downside is with so much traffic it took one hour to get home, with a clear road it takes probably 25 minutes.
