Living conditions

How many of you can say you have lived in a library? Well we live in a house that is opened three times week as a reading room, so Tuesday’s, Wednesday and Friday’s anybody who has registered can come and read in our dining area. This poses a few restrictions on us, as you can see in the photo the room is set out as a library, our dining table becomes a reading table, there is no lounge area we spend most of our spare time in the office, which is a bedroom converted for that purpose.
I think we don’t have to mention that the only private space we have is our bedroom. But even in there, we don’t really have facilities to sit comfortable like a couch, but we have a deck-chair, smile. When we want to read we either sit on the bed or lay down.
We share the house with a Swiss lady who oversees the reading room, she is also responsible for the Christian book shop in town, she has two Guineans working for her and they supply most of the churches throughout Guinea within the alliance with literature.
The only time where it seems like we can have quality time as a couple is Sunday morning, and honestly we used this time just for us, once in a while, which is great.

Tuesday we will be traveling again, for that we would appreciate your prayers. We will be travelling with an 81 year old lady, who was the first Missionary to work in Guinea for Philafricaine 30 years ago. She arrived a few days ago, so we take her with another couple on a roundtrip to see her old friends one more time. Many people I spoke to in Macenta remember her kindness.
During this trip, Andy and I will have the opportunity of visiting the towns of Labe and Gaoual; we will work in one of these towns. A decision will be made at the end of October which town it will be; during the trip we will assess the advantages and disadvantages of each town. Please pray that we have a good feeling for the towns as this will be a long term decision.
