As we are settling in to life as the norm, it is quite fascinating to see how easy it is to adapt. Significant rain hasn't fallen for several month's now, even though Guinea is called the water tank of West Africa, this has an effect on life. Around our area where we live people are seen carrying 5 gallon barrels, in the search for water. In town motor-taxi's are being sent with barrels to find water. Our well is getting low as the other day the water from our water filter tasted soily. Electricity from the hydro electric dams is being cut on a regular basis and we adapt our lives to revolve around when the electricity is here. It seems the regular current comes during the night, so early mornings are in order to charge our ever dependent lives on electrical goods. Keep-up with emails, news and of course keep you all informed of our goings-on. Having fun with the learning of languages. The other day with our language helper, we were learning about body parts. We learned how to ask "how are your eyes?", "how are your ears?" and then burst into laughter as Jutta asked instead of "how are your teeth?" she asked "how are your rice?" The words for teeth and rice are so close, we can hardly hear the difference, but with a little difference in intonation and you have changed the sentence dramatically.
